Before We Begin: Where We Are in the Sprint
We’ve reached Week 6, the final stage of our 6-week end of year sprint.
And if you’ve stayed with me through this process, you’ve built:
A North Star goal
A priority system
A structured week and day
A weekly reset ritual
An energy and mindset framework
Now comes the part that brings it all together. Closing the year with reflection, clarity, and intention so you don’t just repeat the same year again.
This edition is the bridge between your 2025 progress and your 2026 transformation.
We’re going to review your year in a structured, meaningful way and set you up to enter January with confidence, not chaos.
Why a Year-End Review Matters
Most people roll into the new year with:
vague goals
recycled resolutions
no clarity on what actually went wrong
no idea what to carry forward
and no understanding of who they’ve become.
That’s why every year feels the same. But a proper year-end review fixes that.
It helps you:
celebrate what you did well
understand what held you back
cut what no longer serves you
refine your direction
and design your next chapter intentionally.
This is how high performers evolve, through awareness, not hustle.
Let’s walk through the process together.
Step 1 - Reflect: What Actually Happened This Year?
Take 10-15 minutes and answer these questions honestly:
✔ What were my biggest wins this year?
Personal, professional, physical, financial. Absolutely everything counts.
✔ What habits or behaviours helped me the most?
This creates clarity on what to bring into 2026.
✔ What didn’t go well and why?
This isn’t intended to guilt you. We need to be aware of what didn’t go well to avoid the same problems.
Patterns repeat unless you interrupt them.
✔ Where did I waste the most energy?
Alcohol? Overcommitting? Poor sleep? No planning?
Name the leaks so you can close them.
✔ What am I proud of?
You need to acknowledge this - it’s the foundations of your 2026 identity.
Step 2 - Reframe: What Lessons Will I Take Into Next Year?
Reflection is only useful if it shapes your next moves.
Ask yourself:
What did I learn about myself?
What do I want more of next year?
What do I want less of?
What system or routine actually worked for me?
What type of structure do I need to perform sustainably?
These insights form the foundation of your 2026 direction.
Step 3 - Reset: What Needs to Be Released Before 2026?
You cannot step into the new year carrying all the weight of the last one.
Let go of:
goals that no longer matter
habits that break your momentum
relationships or environments that drain you
stories you’ve told yourself that keep you stuck.
Resetting is an active decision. It creates space for better things to take root.
Ask yourself: “What do I refuse to carry with me into next year?”
The answer will tell you exactly what needs to change.
Step 4 - Redefine What Matters in 2026
Now we shift forward.
You’re not setting full goals yet. Right now, you’re defining direction.
Think about:
Who am I becoming?
What identity am I stepping into?
What does “better” look like for me next year?
What aspects of my life need structure, not willpower?
What systems do I need to feel in control and consistent?
This creates clarity and confidence going into the new year instead of rushing into vague resolutions.
Step 5 - Commit to Your January Momentum Plan
This sprint may be ending, but your momentum shouldn’t.
For January, commit to three things:
1. Choose ONE goal that matters.
Not five. One.
2. Build the system to support it.
Weekly structure, daily rhythm, energy boundaries.
3. Stick to your Sunday Setup.
Consistency is built weekly, not yearly.
These three alone will change your year.
The Reminder
You have grown, learned, adjusted, and improved over the last six weeks, even if the progress feels subtle.
This year-end review is your moment to:
acknowledge your growth
release what no longer serves you
and choose the path you want to walk next year.
Reflection makes you intentional and intention makes you powerful.
And now you’re ready for 2026, not with pressure, but with clarity.
Be proud of yourself for doing this work and excited for the work we’re going to undertake in 2026!
Next week I’ll send out a template you can use to set your 2026 goals and walk into January with direction and clarity.
